The certificate programs are the quickest way to establish a solid foundation for your future professional CAD career in the field of your chosen specialization. Computer Aided Design Foundation Level 1
This 16 credit hour, multidisciplinary program is intended for students exploring the career options in Computer Aided Design (CAD) as it relates to the fields of mechanical and civil engineering, and architecture. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design program advisor before pursuing this certificate program.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an A&E CAD Program Coordinator before pursuing this program. Coordinators are listed below:

Architectural BIM/CAD
Civil CAD & Electronic CAD
Mechanical CAD
Architectural CAD / Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialization Level 1
This 27 credit hour is intended for students pursuing careers in the field of Architectural Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Building Information Modeling (BIM). Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design program’s Architectural CAD advisor before pursuing this certificate program.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the A&E CAD department’s Architectural CAD Coordinator, Theo Krause, before pursuing this program.
Civil CAD Specialization Level 1
This 24 credit hour program is intended for students pursuing careers in the field of Civil Engineering Computer Aided Design. Students may also apply the credits earned in the Civil certification to the A&E CAD department’s AAS degree – Civil CAD Specialization. CAD software used in this program includes Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the A&E CAD department’s Civil CAD coordinator, Jeffrey Muhammad, before pursuing this program.
Integrated Circuit Layout & Design Specialization Level 1
This 27 credit hour certificate program is intended for students pursuing careers in the field of Integrated Circuit Mask design. CAD software used in this program includes Cadence Virtuoso and Allegro.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the A&E CAD department’s Electronic CAD Coordinator, Jeffrey Muhammed, before pursuing this program.
Mechanical CAD/CAM Level 1
This 20 credit hour certificate program is intended for students pursuing careers and training in the field of CAD and Computer Aided Manufacturing.
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the A&E CAD department’s Mechanical CAD coordinator, Kim Duren, before pursuing this program.
